Oasis, I heard wonderwall, fell in love. Never really got attached to any of their other stuff though, which makes me sad, I was really hoping I was going to like it title=Frown

Ryan Adams does a really great version of that song on his "Love Is Hell" CD. Check it out as it's an awesome CD.

I love Rascal Flatts. We saw them in concert last year, and they're just fantastic. Gary Levox's voice is a beast. But I think musically, NC is more mature.

One artist I've been particularly glued to for the past several years is Lorenna McKennit. She has such a unique tone and message through her pieces that really draws someone into a different time and place. Her work captures the essence of cultures and expresses it beutifully.

I'm also quite obsessed with Coldplay as was previously mentioned by others. WhiteLion, Burlap to Cashmere, E-Type, and many others come to mind when considering my musical obsessions...far to many to listen to in a year though. It's nice to stumble on old cd's again after you've almost forgotten them.

Five Iron Frenzy, the O. C. supertones, Keane, Relient K, Switchfoot (but moreso their older stuff than the new).

there's lots of stuff i need to go out and buy, but i'm both broke and lazy, so that's an entirely different list.

and i couldn't be the only FIF fan, could i?

Oh I haven't posted here in sooooooooo long...

1) Matt is right. Jars of Clay's best album is Much Afraid!

2) Since I posted last which was probably when Clinton was still president..
I've listened to and met Jeremy Camp and Starfield.

Right now, I can't get Starfield out of my CD player. If you want to hear an AWESOME version of "40" download their cover on iTunes. And they are awesome awesome guys. Check them out.

Ok, I'll run away now.

I listen to the following regularly:
Fingerstyle guitar maestro, Doyle Dykes
The amazing Phil Keaggy
Norah Jones
James Taylor
Alison Krauss and Union Station (w/Jerry Douglas)
Bela Fleck (w/Bryan Sutton)
Haley Dykes (madolin player/vocalist newgrass artist)
Trisha Yearwood
Sting
Josh Groban
Michael Hedges
Mark O'Connor (w/YoYo Ma and Edgar Meyer)

Okay, that's enough for now.

Good list Keith! I've seen Doyle Dykes play a few years back, and my jaw just dropped to the floor. Thank God I'm not a guitarplayer, otherwise I would have stopped. title=Big

Michael Hedges: Wish I could have seen him....

What other bands am I superglued to? I have seen DMB mentioned a few times, and yes: I am the one European guy that likes DMB! Actually, there are lots more. C'mon Dave! Play some shows here!

More artists? The Cult, Madness, ZZ Top, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Duke Ellington, Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Frank Zappa, Grant Green, Opeth and my two absolute favourites : Brian Wilson (with and without Beach Boys) and the Beatles.

Some people call my taste in music 'different' or 'eclectic'. It's even simpler. There are only two kinds of music: good and bad. I only like good music.

Marcel

Hey Marcel,

Doyle Dykes is an incredible guitarist, and a really great guy too. He has been a continuing source of inspiration to me in more ways than one. Michael Hedges was simply ahead of his time. I listen to Aerial Boundaries and am always just amazed...it never loses that effect. His varied touch on Java Man is quite impressive too. He left us way too soon. Ever listen to Marcel Dadi? He was quite a guitarist too. Doyle actually wrote a piece called Nothings Too Good For a Friend that is dedicated to him...your name made me think of it.

keep listening to the "good" music.

Keith

new death cab

death cab for cutie's new album plans came out aug 30 and its freaking amazing. i love them and the new album will not disappoint, altough it is dare a say a little more "commercial" than some of their older ones. bc of this it has gotten some bad reviews, but you MUST listen and make up your own mind. i love it!

I think it's less commercial than Transalanticism. It will never top "We have the facts and we're voting yes" That album, lyrically and musically, is gold.

Jars of feaking Clay!

i've personally re-discovered how absolutely amazing they are.

i still haven't heard anything from Who We Are Instead, but some stuff from the Furthermore album is so awesome. even though i'm pretty sure it's all older stuff, they do it all the REAL Jars way. more folkishness/acoustic and less produced. aaahhh, i love them.

they're one of THEE, if not THEE, best Christian bands to exist within the last 20 years.

lyrics and music are magnificent.

Art In Me... gosh, what a song

Jars of Clay is awesome! I post on their message board too sometimes. I totally agree that they are the best Christian band, though Switchfoot is close behind. I've seen Jars in concert twice, and both times they were very impressive. I'm also very stuck on Lifehouse right now, and I'm going to see them in concert soon as well as NC! <><
